Crafting a unique sound, fusing traditional with modern, to create their own original style of global funk. Highlighting Djembe and other traditional drums, together with modern drumkit, electric bass and guitar, to bring a sound reminiscent of both the heart of the city and circling around a fire.
Started in 2022, ROSSaCONN was born during the pandemic. Having played together before (Frequalizer), Rachman, Stephan, and Eric decided to create a stripped down instrumental trio that would allow them to follow their muse. Drawing on shared experiences playing in Funk, Afrobeat, Reggae, Highlife, Soukous, Rock and roll bands, and more, they decided to blend all these together into their own stew. Creating primarily original music written for the current times, the theme was anything goes as long as it has a good rhythm and is danceable. They are constantly striving and growing, adding new songs and arrangements as the inspiration hits.
In the spirit of community and support we frequently feature special guests, and have been very fortunate to collaborate with a range of incredible musicians during this time, including Abstract Rude, Rocker T, Saeed Abbas, Nathaniel Talbot, Gideon Freudmann, Othnell Mangoma, Woodbae and Treestar, The Inspirational Rapper, Arturo Rodriguez, and many more!
